On September 15th, 2019, Alicia Navarro vanished. As of right now there are no valid leads as to where she is, however, there will always be hope until the day she is found. Alicia was 14 when she vanished. She is Autistic. She thought she would be returning, based on the note left behind…

When Jessica Nunez woke up on that September morning, her world was changed. She had seen Alicia in the very early hours of the morning, before going to bed, but now Alicia was gone. Jessica noticed that the back door was open. When she went out back she found that chairs had been stacked up against the block wall and there were shoe prints on the other side of the wall. All that was left was a note saying, “I ran away, I will be back, I swear. I’m sorry”. She took her Macbook and cell phone with her and there has been no digital trace since that day.

Like many teenagers, Alicia was on social media and into gaming. Although she was very introverted, she had met people through both. Even though there is no proof, it is speculated that one of these is the reason for her disappearance. This is why it is important to constantly monitor online activity. Don’t assume this can’t happen to you.

Jessica Nunez fears her daughter is a victim of human trafficking and spends here time searching for Alicia and raising awareness. She, along with others, will never give up hope. She just wants her daughter back.

A plea to parents: If you are not willing to put the time into monitoring your child’s/teens online activity and social media, then don’t let them have it. I know, even when constantly monitoring, you can’t catch everything, but you can catch most things and possibly prevent putting yourself into this situation. I am speaking from experience on this. Be the parent, not the bff. Below is a few links to this story.
